The short trek in Potrerillos: two hours of hiking to the ridge of Cerro Cocodrilo, with the turquoise reservoir below and the Andean foothills ahead.

IMPORTANT

  • Moderate difficulty, but suitable for first-time trekkers: we walk at the group's pace.
  • There are three ways to get there: with our transfer from your accommodation, departing from the bus terminal, or on your own straight to the base.
  • It can be combined with rafting on the same day.
If you've never done a mountain trek or only have half a day, this is your hill. Two hours of hiking on well-marked trails, with short climbs and the Potrerillos landscape in view the whole time. Cerro Cocodrilo (Crocodile Hill) owes its name to the shape of its ridge seen from the river. From the top you see the reservoir, the road that climbs to the High Andes and the Cordón del Plata closing off the horizon. A mountain guide goes with the group, and the pace is set by the most relaxed walker. It's an ideal hike to combine with rafting on the same day.
