Twelve hours along International Route 7, from the vineyards to the roof of the Americas: Potrerillos, Uspallata, Puente del Inca and the Aconcagua viewpoint.

IMPORTANT

In the High Andes the temperature drops 15 to 20 degrees compared to the city: bring warm clothes even if it's hot in Mendoza.
Going up to Cristo Redentor depends on the weather and on clearance from the border police. When it's not possible, the tour goes as far as Las Cuevas.
If roads are closed or the weather is bad, the itinerary is adapted; the tour still runs.

This is Mendoza's classic tour and the one almost nobody wants to miss. We set off early and climb along International Route 7, the road that links Mendoza with Chile, gaining altitude kilometer by kilometer: from the city's 750 meters to 3,200 meters at Las Cuevas, on the border. The landscape changes several times in a single day. First the green foothills and the turquoise mirror of the Potrerillos reservoir. Then the Uspallata valley, where the mountains open up and the Camino de los Andes appears, the route crossed by the Army of the Andes. Higher up, the red and ochre colors of Puente del Inca, the rock-and-sulfur formation that is the most photographed in the province. The moment everyone waits for is the Aconcagua Provincial Park viewpoint: from there you see the highest mountain in the Americas, 6,961 meters, with nothing in front of it. If the weather allows, we continue to Las Cuevas and Cristo Redentor. A guide travels with you all day, with stops for photos and for lunch, and in the afternoon we come back along the same road with the sunset light on the mountains.
